Donating a total of $12,500 to various local organizations and groups, the family-operated business has ensured a better life for the citizens of Naugatuck and its surrounding areas.

Because of the poor economy, many businesses have struggled in recent years to make enough money just to stay open. Because these businesses couldn’t make their usual donations to charitable organizations, these organizations suffered. These charities desperately need funds to continue their worthy missions. Recognizing this, A Better Way Wholesale Autos has increased its efforts and has pledged to donate even more money going forward.

The renowned independent dealership made sure not to favor one charity over another. In 2012, it donated funds to 15 different organizations. Among these were the Vietnam Veterans Association, the VFW and No Vet Left Behind, which help returning vets integrate back into civilian life. These organizations provide food and clothing to unemployed vets, and offer them much needed medical treatment.

Each night, millions of people go to sleep hungry. Because of the recent recession, even citizens from established communities like Naugatuck have been plagued by high unemployment and homelessness rates. To counter this, many of its citizens now rely on food stamps to buy groceries. Unfortunately, food stamps are often not enough to feed a hungry family. To help, A Better Way purchased gift cards from Stop & Shop to be distributed to underprivileged members of the local community. Thanks to A Better Way, dozens of families were able to enjoy a scrumptious Thanksgiving feast and, at least for one day, were able to push their woes aside.

A Better Way Wholesale Autos is also a regular contributor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The hospital, which primarily focuses on finding cures for ailments that afflict youth, is a pioneering research facility that relies heavily on donor contributions. Without this help, the hospital would not be able to provide the kind of care its patients need.

The dealership has donated to institutions dedicated to the well-being of its patrons, such as the Middlebury Volunteer Department, the Fraternal Order of Police and the Naugatuck Police Explorers. Thanks to A Better Way, Naugatuck is a safer and more secure community.
