The Price is Right (Now)

People always say timing is everything. Well, I’m finally about to take advantage of just that. Every year when the snowboarding season begins I contemplate whether or not to purchase my own snowboard instead of renting one as I normally do. My reasoning is usually that while I prefer owning my own board and realize purchasing one is cheaper than renting a board in the long run, there is still an advantage to renting. You see, unlike snowboard shoes which are much nicer to own and are easy to carry, with a board there is the issue of lugging your board every time you go boarding as opposed to the comfort of renting a board on the spot. But in the end of the day, I realized that purchasing a board is actually the way to go if you really want to enhance your boarding experience. This is especially true if you plan on using the special flow bindings for Burton snowboards.

After an entire season of strapping and unstrapping my rented board while on the snow, I am definitely ready to get a board with flow bindings. So why is my timing so good? Well, sure it would have been nice to get my board at the beginning of the season, but at least by not waiting for next season I am enjoying the great end of season sale prices that are offered now. If you plan on getting a board next season, do like me and get one now. Trust me, the price is right (now).
